Market Memories

Yesterday, Rachel and I, along with our intern, Jessica, and Aletha of Pearl's Events made a day trip to Chicago for the National Bridal Market.

At Market, Rachel and I work very hard to choose the gown styles and other items that we are going to bring in to September's Bride to show our customers over the next year. Yesterday, we visited Casablanca, Maggie Sottero, and Justin Alexander, where we found some absolutely beautiful gowns that will begin arriving at the store late this summer.

Many of our brides have been asking us for the "perfect" strapless bra. So, another of our missions yesterday was to find the "perfect" bra to bring into the store to offer our customers. Well, yesterday, we met our new friend, Coco, who is a totally cool man who designs bras for a living! I will share more about the "Flatter Me" bra later, but I want to share this great photo of Coco measuring Aletha to see if she is wearing the right size:

One of our favorite Bridal Market traditions is to go to dinner at the Grand Lux Cafe on Michigan Avenue after a big day on the showroom floor. Here are Rachel, Jessica, and I in the lobby of the restaurant. (please, no comments on how pale Rachel & I look - Jessica just returned from Spring Break in Florida)

I can't wait to begin showing you some of the beautiful things that we found at the Bridal Market...stay tuned!

September's Bride...a fresh approach to formal.
