Market Memories

Yesterday, Rachel and I, along with our intern, Jessica, and Aletha of Pearl's Events made a day trip to Chicago for the National Bridal Market.

At Market, Rachel and I work very hard to choose the gown styles and other items that we are going to bring in to September's Bride to show our customers over the next year. Yesterday, we visited Casablanca, Maggie Sottero, and Justin Alexander, where we found some absolutely beautiful gowns that will begin arriving at the store late this summer.

Many of our brides have been asking us for the "perfect" strapless bra. So, another of our missions yesterday was to find the "perfect" bra to bring into the store to offer our customers. Well, yesterday, we met our new friend, Coco, who is a totally cool man who designs bras for a living! I will share more about the "Flatter Me" bra later, but I want to share this great photo of Coco measuring Aletha to see if she is wearing the right size:

One of our favorite Bridal Market traditions is to go to dinner at the Grand Lux Cafe on Michigan Avenue after a big day on the showroom floor. Here are Rachel, Jessica, and I in the lobby of the restaurant. (please, no comments on how pale Rachel & I look - Jessica just returned from Spring Break in Florida)

I can't wait to begin showing you some of the beautiful things that we found at the Bridal Market...stay tuned!

Newest Arrival :: Casablanca 1934

Many brides have LOVED this silhouette by Casablanca Bridal in style #1900. Now, the designer has updated the style slightly. This gown arrived at our store earlier this week. The lace is to die for - very unique and gorgeous.

First Communion :: Our youngest clients!

For many in the West Michigan area, First Communion classes are taking place and the celebration will be happening in April in area churches.

At September's Bride, we have a beautiful selection of dresses, veils, and accessories for the girl who is getting ready to celebrate her First Communion this Spring.

Please stop in to see our White Elegance Collection from US Angels. For a special experience, please call September's Bride (616-355-1433) and make an appointment with Michelle.
Here are Michelle's recommendations:
1. Yes, the dress must be pure white and only white, no off-whites or colored accents.
2. Veils are still worn and are very traditional. Not every girl in your church will be wearing a veil, but many will.
3. Gloves are not recommended for the service, but can be worn into the church and make great photos!
4. A matching sweater or cover-up would be wise, especially in Michigan's spring weather!

SB Bride :: Amy

Amy chose a beautiful fit-and-flare lace gown by Casablanca. Her chapel-length veil was designed by Jennifer Leigh Bridals. Amy and Carlo were married last weekend in Grand Rapids. Our dear friend, Aletha of Pearl's Events was her coordinator and the fabulous Amy Carroll provided the photography.

Images from this weekend's Trunk Show

This week, the fabulous Meg Lammers of MEG Jewelry was in the store! Here are a few photos that I snapped throughout the day:

Here are Liz & Maria. Liz is going to be married in her mother's vintage Priscilla of Boston gown. We have had a delightful time working with this wedding party and family.

Ashley, pictured below, is becoming a blog star! If you have read my blog for a while, you saw a fun photo of her choosing her dress with her 7-year-old brother! Here, Meg is showing her some wonderful earring options!

Rachel and I, loving our job!

Meg, with Brittany and her Mom. Brittany is one of our prom girls and is the most special, confident young woman!
