Over the weekend, we received a beautiful new gown from Maggie Sottero. The name of the gown is "Fiorella". To see an image, visit the Maggie Sottero website.


"One-piece, A-line gown with zipper over inner corset with button/loop accent. This Soft Shimmer Satin gown is lavishly caught-up at various points in the skirt and features rich beaded embellishments with Swarovski crystals. Alternating diagonal pleats accenting the bodice and fitted hip area create a sensational figure. The intrigue of this style is enhanced with the optional beaded shoulder strap (not detachable) creating a fashionable one-shoulder treatment."

Closed for the Day

We have closed for the day at this point due to the lack of power.

The store is becoming very warm and uncomfortable. Due to this, we have decided to close for the day to allow our employees to enjoy the day outdoors in the bright sunshine instead of the dark. :)

However, our customers are very important to us and if you need something during today's business hours (until 4:00 pm), I would be honored if you called me at 616-283-2995 and we will do our best to accomodate you or answer your questions.

Power Outage - Currently OPEN!

Unfortunately, part of Downtown Holland, including September's Bride, lost electric power and telephone service in last night's storm.

If you try to call our store today, you will not be able to get through. Until 4:00 pm, you may call our cell phones if you have an emergency::

The Downtown Holland Street Performer Series begins tonight! Each Thursday evening for the summer, Downtown Holland is filled with music, dance, and laughter. Most stores, including September's Bride, are open, and the entire family is welcome for a celebration of Summer!

When we started September's Bride nearly 2 years ago, we had some very lofty goals. We wanted to be an upscale bridal boutique where each bride had an amazing experience.

This past Saturday, lovely Katie had an appointment with us. I had a wonderful time working with Katie and the ladies who accompanied her. She found a beautiful, perfect gown and sent me this e-mail today about her experience at September's Bride...

These gowns just arrived at September's Bride from Justin Alexander and we are all in love!


The first one is from Justin Alexander's Couture line and is Style 9605. It features a full silk-satin skirt with box pleats in the back. The bodice is covered with a beautiful embroidered lace and the waist is nipped in with a silk belt and brooch. If you are looking for a classic, elegant wedding gown, you must try this one on!


The second gown is Style 8454, available in ivory or white. This Victorian-inspired mermaid floor length gown features a high neckline and a low v-back with a dramatic ruffled collar. The elegant dropped waistline leads into a soft sweep train. This gown actually features two different layers of lace...the details are amazing! Plus, this dress retails for under $900!

Today, I thought I would answer some of the most Frequently Asked Questions about tuxedos and our tuxedo rental service.


FAQ :: When should we order and reserve our tuxes?
SB :: Most wedding parties choose their tuxedos 2-3 months before the wedding. We cannot "reserve" tuxes from our warehouses until all the guys have been measured and made their deposits.


FAQ :: How much do tuxes cost?
SB :: Like anything, the cost of the tuxes you rent depends on the choices you make. Tux Rentals from September's Bride start at $79, our most expensive tux choice is $129. Special options and shoe rental can increase the cost.


FAQ :: Do you have any specials or sale prices?
SB :: The groom's tux is free with the rental of five additional tuxedos. If you need fewer than that, we will still give the groom a 50% discount with any size of wedding party. Follow our blog and join our e-mail list to learn about other occasional specials.


FAQ :: What if most of our wedding party is out of town? How do they get measured?

SB :: Most tuxedo rental businesses will measure men for tuxedos for free. So, your wedding party can get measured at a business in their town and then call those meausurements in to us. Be careful, however, to choose a reputable place to be measured.
